How can assets be transferred in a legally secure manner? Should this only be done after your own death or is a transfer during your lifetime preferable? We offer you comprehensive advice on all aspects of inheritance law and gifting. In doing so, we first consider your individual life situation and then work out tailor-made solutions for you.

Or perhaps there has already been a death - possibly quite unexpected - and some legal issues now need to be clarified? You can also contact us for this.

The organization of property succession in the event of death is one of the tasks of notaries. This includes the notarization of wills (e.g. in the form of the so-called "Berlin will") and inheritance contracts (e.g. for unmarried partners), inheritance disputes between co-heirs in communities of heirs, notarial applications for certificates of inheritance or notarial advice. Special features such as so-called disabled wills, the annulment or revocation of previous wills, the execution of wills, the suspension of legacies, the stipulation of conditions by the testator, as well as any foreign connection must be taken into account.

Closely related to inheritance law is the law of gifts. Frequently in the form of gifts of land, often through transfer agreements - e.g. from parents to their children. As part of his work, the notary draws attention to any need to coordinate the succession of assets during lifetime with provisions in partnership agreements and marriage contracts and takes these into account as part of his work. This enables an individual and appropriate settlement of the estate.
